Joylily is your go-to-girl. She’s been just about everywhere and can do just about anything (within reason – haha). Born in Chicago, Joylily grew up a missionary kid (MK) and has lived in several states and even overseas. Moving to Indianapolis and setting roots has been a most recent challenge, but she’s never found a place she couldn’t call home. The transitional lifestyle of missions has only made her more aware that she is simply a hobo with an eternal home in mind.

Shortly after moving to Indy, Joylily was invited to play with The Young Band at their first (real) show and has since become a member of the family, as well as a bandmate. Feeling like a part of the family early on has only made it easier to become a wife to Will and a sister to Melanie.

The baby that couldn’t sleep without music, and then the little girl who had the radio playing 24/7, at age nine Joylily took up piano as her first instrument, soon followed by guitar, djembe, violin, and voice. She enjoys the tech and production side of music as well, which has been an important part of seeing The Young Band grow into the band it is today. With a degree in psychology, managing the studio and recording process is nowhere near her specialty, but is a worthwhile study.

She wants to see this music be for others both a lifeline and the much-needed push out of safety to live in reckless abandon for Jesus.
