You want to know what one of our favorite things is? When total strangers become our legit friends.
Thanks to a Josh Garrels concert last fall, we met Cory Breth, the enthusiastic ticketmaster at that show. Cory is a fellow songwriter and worship leader himself, so as soon as one of the family members with us introduced us to him, we hit it off. Small talk led to getting to share about the peaks and the valleys of our walks in life and how each have had their beautiful moments. Conversations like that are always cool, but you never really know which people are going to actually remember you a month later.
This guy did.
Cory has been such a cool friend and stayed in touch since that show. When he asked us about hosting one of his “Beautiful Moments” tour stops, we were excited for the opportunity to connect again and share music together, and to meet his amazing wife who is touring with him.
We think of music as a means to connect with each other. So we set the scene of this show in an 122-year-old sanctuary as if it were in our living room: throw pillows, blankets on the pews, and all. If you’re comfortable, you’re more likely to laugh and cry, and that’s always an acceptable thing in our book.
Thanks so much to everyone who came to support us and created the beautiful moments of our evening there. We hope that each of you were encouraged, just as we were to share some of our music with you.
For those of you who haven’t, take a moment to go and follow Cory Breth on Facebook and and listen to his music on Spotify. And then check out the pictures from the concert below! (Click on them to enlarge.)
See you at the next show!
